The Munros of Meall na Teanga and Sron a' Choire Ghairbh

  • Fully Booked

About this event

Beyond Spean Bridge, driving north along the A82, the Munros of Meall na Teanga and Sron a' Choire Ghairbh form an imposing backdrop, rising steeply above Loch Lochy and the Great Glen Way. Our routes starts off on easy forest trails for 3-4km allowing us to warm up the legs gently. From here, we turn north and head up the excellent Cam Bealach path which we follow all the way through the valley of the Allt Glas Doire. From the head of the narrow pass we must decide which of the two Munros to tackle first. Sron a' Choire Ghairbh has a spectacular NE facing coire which can gather a vast amount of snow. I have seen colossal cornices form here which remain through to early summer. Meall na Teanga boasts a steep north ridge and provides outstanding views towards the Grey Corries and Nevis Range. Depending on the weather, time and group wishes, we have the option of an exciting alternate route of descent which initially follows a narrow ridge and leads to some picturesque lochans nestled in a beautifully rough and wild landscape.
