Sgor na h'Ulaidh
The forgotten Munro of Glencoe

About this event
Sgor na h'Ulaidh or, Peak of the Treasure, is a somewhat neglected Munro, almost entirely hidden from view behind the better known Glencoe peaks. It is a peak of much character, however, steep and rugged, and largely pathless, due in part to the lack of visitors it receives. Route choices abound with this gnarly monster, but whichever way it is tackled, you are sure to encounter very steep ground where, particularly in poor visibility, careful route finding is needed to avoid tiers of crags, which can appear suddenly through the mist. Once the summit ridge is gained, dizzying drops down steep gullies demand respect but, for all your efforts, the reward is well worth waiting for. Being in such a central location, a great tangle of peaks can be seen in all directions. Depending on the desires of the group and, for a little extra leg work, there is the option of including the nearby Corbett of Meall Ligiche.
